Demo #1: Motion Blur

Assignment: In this photo demonstration our teacher asked us to take pictures of him using a photography technique called "panning," which creates motion blur in the picture.

What I Learned: During this demonstration I learned how to create motion blur in a picture. Motion blur helps single out the subject in a picture, especially when it's moving. This is great to use for something moving horizontally across your picture.

Photo Assignment #2

Assignment Summary: In this assignment we were required to take 50 pictures and select the top 10 to turn in. I chose "food" as my photo subject, I will admit I was starving when I chose this. I used 8 different subjects in the category of food. I used cheerios, apples, kiwis, oranges, chips, lemonade, raspberries, and a few others. Below is the photo I believe is my best.

Photo Info:
Aperture - 4.0
Shutter Speed - 1/10

Assignment: In this assignment we were required to edit a picture taken by a former student. We edited reflections, background, and familiarized ourselves with levels.

What I learned: I learned some basic elements in photo retouching that I will definitely use in the future.

Before and After shown here.

Photo Assignment #1: Still Life

Assignment Summary: In this assignment, I had originally planned on taking real-life versions of my photos, of the horses at my barn, but due to weather I decided to take pictures of the next best thing, model horses. These horses looking amazingly real, and taking photos of them is a really fun experience. You get the feel of a real life animal, but without the pain of capturing the moment in action. Thanks to my batteries dying, I was only able to get 8 pictures, but am proud of them none the less. My favorite of these is shown below, in the model horse, "Secretariat."

Aperture: 6  Shutter: 1/100 ISO: 80

This is the rest of my photos with the one shown above included.

Photoshop Assignment #1 "Pop Art"

Assignment Summary: In this assignment, we learned to use a particularly interesting part of Adobe Photoshop CS5. We made our own pop art assignments, using a picture of ourselves. We were guided through the process with an online guide, and in the end, it resulted in this photo.

What I learned: In this photo assignment I learned one basic but interesting part of photo shop. I learned how to color the images, which will definitely come in handy, since I own this program and have just started to use it. This was a very helpful assignment to me.
