Photoshop Assignment #4: Open Tutorial

Assignment: In this assignment, we were asked to look for photoshop tutorials online, so that we could make our own version of the outcome. Mine was a tutorial on how to make an underwater apartment, with a girl in it and lots of textures and stuff like that. I took the basic idea, and deviated from it a lot. I made an "Orca Room," with two orcas in it. The room to me looks more like a tank than a fairytale underwater room. If you look up images of orcas swimming underwater, the water colors and textures look very similar. I like the outcome very much.

Photo Assignment 6: People

Assignment: In this assignment I used some photos I took of my friend Mona at our barn with her lesson horse Willow. Willow was a joy to shoot with because she's so patient and pretty much doesn't move. Mona had a lot of fun with this shoot, and so did I.

Photoshop Assignment #3: Deep Blue Saline

Assignment: In this assignment we were required to change the context of our school, Saline High School. The night before we were assigned this project, I had watched a movie called "Deep Blue Sea" with my best friend, which gave me the idea for "Deep Blue Saline." I brought this to life using my favorite animal in my favorite part of campus. I absolutely love the pond in front of the school, so I decided to incorporate my favorite animal, killer whales, in the photo. I also used a sea lion, because I got to hug one and spend time with one back in November, so I have a soft spot for them. Here's the final product:

Barn Shoot #1

This photo shoot was NOT assigned for school, but I may use some of these photos in later assignments. I recently bought a camera and wanted to shoot some pics (and have some taken of me) at the barn. Here are my 4 favorites:

Madison and me :)

Photo #5: Animals

Assignment: This weekend I had no idea what photo assignment I would do. My dad and I got out my model horse barn (that is obviously still in the making) and we decided to put my dog in it. Well sadly he fits in one of the stalls, so therefore he's practically the size of a model horse. Well we decided to get him used to it by bribing him with treats (aka cereal, we're too cheap for big name treats). I grabbed my camera and decided to get a few shots of him, and I found some of them were pretty good, so I decided to turn them in for this assignment. In this, I learned the difficulty of shooting animals, they move a lot more than you realize. I used my new point and shoot camera (Fujifilm Finepix) that I got this weekend for this assignment.

Toby: Toby is a 5 year old male Bichon Frise. He absolutely LOVES food, which is the only reason he cooperated for the photo shoot.

Photo Assignment #4: B&W

Assignement: In this assignment, I decided to do black and white photography. I did not shoot the pictures in black and white, but converted them to this once on photoshop.com. My favorite photograph is of a C, which of course stands for the first letter of my name, Christin. I found this on my desk and though I could get a few interesting shots of it. I narrowed it down to two pictures, and had a hard time choosing between the two. Both are shown in my album.

Demo #2: Portraits

Assignment: In this assignment we were required to take two different portraits. In one, we used the 3 Point Set Up technique (shown in the picture on the right). In the second, we took a "Window" portrait, using only light from the windows in our school (shown on the left).

What I learned: I learned some very useful elements of taking portraits, such as correct lighting, which will definitely be useful to me. Also, I discovered an element in Photoshop that my teacher was not aware of while editing the pictures, and I will definitely use this.

Photo #3: Macro

In this photo assignment, I decided to do macro. I picked this because of one particular photo I knew I could take for this, and it's my favorite photo from the set. It's one with the quote, "Whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." It's on a bracelet that I often wear, and I absolutely love it.
